About the Role

V2 Retail is looking for a Senior PostgreSQL Developer (6+ years) to join our IT department. The person will handle database design, performance optimization, and complex queries. This role will also involve leading database projects and working with teams across IT and business to ensure smooth data operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced SQL queries, functions, triggers, and stored procedures.

• Optimize and tune database performance (query tuning, indexing, partitioning).

• Create and maintain data models, schemas, and structures for scalability.

• Support large data migrations, ETL processes, and system integrations.

• Ensure database security, stability, and backup/recovery.

• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide root cause analysis.

• Collaborate with IT, analytics, and business teams to deliver data solutions.

• Mentor junior developers and ensure best practices in database development.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL Developer/Database Engineer.

• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning and optimization.

• Experience with large-scale databases and high-volume transactions.

• Strong knowledge of database design principles (normalization, indexing, partitioning).

• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data pipelines.

• Good knowledge of Linux environment and scripting.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure, GCP).

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).

• Familiarity with data warehousing and BI/reporting tools.

• Understanding of data governance and compliance.
